Cofounder NYC is a New York City-focused directory and workspace for people exploring serious company formation. This policy explains how information is collected and used.

Information we collect

Cofounder NYC collects the account, profile, and directory information you submit, including your name, email, location, roles, skills, availability, bio, links, saved people, and messages. We may also collect basic technical information such as browser, device, IP address, pages visited, and timestamps for security, analytics, and reliability.

How we use information

We use your information to create and manage your account, publish your profile, help members discover potential cofounders, support messaging and saved people, improve the product, prevent abuse, and operate the service.

Public profile information

Profile fields intended for the directory may be visible to visitors or members. Do not add confidential business plans, private customer information, trade secrets, sensitive personal information, or anything you are not ready to share with other people evaluating cofounder fit.

Messages and member activity

Messages, saved people, and account activity are used to provide the app experience. We do not treat in-app messages as legal, financial, employment, investment, or confidentiality agreements between members.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us host, store, secure, analyze, or operate the app. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the service, or to respond to abuse, fraud, or security issues.

Meetup and third-party services

The app may link to Founders & Engineers NYC on Meetup or other third-party services. Those services have their own privacy practices, terms, accounts, and data handling. Cofounder NYC is not responsible for third-party services.

Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce rules, and meet legal obligations. If you want your account or profile removed, contact us through the available support or contact channel.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the service, but no internet service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for using a strong password and keeping account access private.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. Continued use of Cofounder NYC after changes means the updated policy applies.
