Terms
Terms of use.
Effective June 2, 2026
These terms govern use of Cofounder NYC. By using the app, you agree to use it for serious, respectful company-formation discovery.
Purpose of the service
Cofounder NYC is for people in New York City exploring serious company formation. The app helps members publish profiles, discover potential cofounders, save people, and start conversations. It is not a hiring marketplace, recruiting platform, investment marketplace, legal service, or employment agency.
Accounts
You are responsible for the information you provide, the activity under your account, and keeping your login credentials secure. Account information should be accurate enough for other members to evaluate fit and contact you through the app.
Profiles and content
You may submit profile details, skills, availability, links, messages, and other content. You keep ownership of your content, but you give Cofounder NYC permission to use, display, store, and process it to operate the service. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.
Member conduct
Use the app for genuine cofounder and company-formation discovery. Do not use it for spam, harassment, scraping, impersonation, deceptive recruiting, unsolicited sales blasts, illegal activity, or attempts to extract confidential information from other members.
No automatic partnership
Using Cofounder NYC, messaging another member, meeting at an event, or saving a profile does not create a partnership, company, employment relationship, fiduciary duty, confidentiality obligation, equity agreement, or investment relationship. Members must create their own written agreements when they decide to work together.
No professional advice
Cofounder NYC does not provide legal, tax, investment, employment, accounting, or financial advice. You should speak with qualified professionals before forming a company, issuing equity, raising capital, hiring, or entering into binding agreements.
Third-party links and events
The app may link to Founders & Engineers NYC on Meetup or other third-party services. Those services are controlled by their own operators and terms. Cofounder NYC is not responsible for third-party sites, events, accounts, payments, communications, or policies.
Availability and changes
The service may change, pause, or stop at any time. Features, access rules, profile visibility, and member workflows may be updated as the product develops.
Limitation of responsibility
Cofounder NYC is provided as a discovery and workflow tool. We do not guarantee member quality, business outcomes, company success, funding, product-market fit, event attendance, or the accuracy of member-submitted information.
Termination
We may remove content, restrict access, or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk for the service, or misuse the community.
